--From I-87, Adirondack Northway, take
Exit 7, Rt. 7 east, toward Troy
--Follow signs for Rt. 7, Hoosick

--Take Vermont Rt. 9 west from Bennington
to NY State, where the road becomes NY Rt. 7

Greyhound Bus and Adirondack Trailways serves most of the
state with express and local busses. The Albany Bus Terminal
is located at 34 Hamilton Street. You may call 518.434.8095
to receive current information or you may call the companies
directly.
If you are interested in taking the CDTA (public
bus) from the Albany Bus Station, you can look up schedules
for the 22, where you will transfer to the 87, 90, or
70.
Albany International
Airport (ALB), located approximately 20 minutes from RPI,
offers service from a number of airlines. There is scheduled
commuter service from all three New York airports (Kennedy,
La Guardia, and Newark) and Boston. Flying time from Boston
or New York is approximately 45 minutes.
If you are traveling on an international flight, be aware
that Albany County
Airport's facilities for currency exchange are limited.
You will want to exchange money at your departing or
international arrival airport.
Taxis are located right outside of the Baggage
Claim.
If you are interested in taking the CDTA (public
bus) look up the schedules for the 'shuttle' from the airport
to Colonie Center where you will transfer to the 90.
Amtrak serves most cities
of the state. The train stop serving Albany/Troy is the
Albany-Rensselaer station, located directly across the Hudson
River from Albany. The phone number for Amtrak is
1.800.872.7245.
Taxis are located at the entrance of the train
station.
If you are interested in taking the CDTA (public
bus), then look up schedules for the 24 to Troy, where you
can transfer to the 87, 90, or 70. *NOTE* The 24 does not
continue running from the Amtrak station; service ends before
5pm.
The taxi system in the Capital District area may differ in
its rate schedule from the system in your area. Meters are
not used and the charge is determined per person per zone
crossed en route to your destination.
